Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date 11/12/2025

1. Appointment Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total service fee may be required to secure your appointment, depending on the service requested and location. This deposit reserves your time slot and covers administrative scheduling and preparation.

2. Cancellation by Client

  • 2 Hours or More Notice: Cancellations made at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time will receive a full refund of any deposit (minus any third-party or transaction fees already incurred) or may be credited toward a future appointment.

  • Less Than 2 Hours Notice: Cancellations made within 2 hours of the appointment will receive a 50% refund of any deposit paid or incur a fee of $25, whichever is greater.

  • No-Show or Last-Minute Cancellation: If the client fails to appear at the scheduled time or cancels after the notary has departed or arrived, a 50% refund will be issued or incur a fee of $25, whichever is greater.

3. Rescheduling Policy

Clients may reschedule their appointment without penalty if at least 2 hours’ notice is provided. If rescheduling requests are made or notice is less than 2 hours, a $25 fee may apply. Deposits are transferable to the new appointment when proper notice is given.

4. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Metro Houston Notary

In the rare event that Metro Houston Notary must cancel or reschedule your appointment (e.g., illness, traffic emergencies, unforeseen travel conditions), you will be promptly notified, and you may choose between: - A full refund of any deposit or prepayment, or - Application of your payment toward a rescheduled appointment at your convenience.

5. Refund Processing

Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days after a cancellation is confirmed. Refunds are returned to the original method of payment unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following fees are non-refundable once incurred: - Travel or mileage fees (if the notary has already departed) - Third-party or government filing fees - Parking, tolls, or special delivery fees - Administrative or document preparation fees

7. Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for ensuring: - The signer(s) and required witnesses are present and prepared. - All documents are complete and ready for notarization. - Valid, unexpired identification is available at the appointment.

If the notarial act cannot proceed due to missing documents, identification, or unprepared signers, the appointment may be treated as a no-show and the full fee may apply.

8. Service Completion and Refund Ineligibility

Once the notary has arrived and the notarization process has begun, no refund will be issued, regardless of outcome, unless Metro Houston Notary determines an error or service failure on our part.

9. Agreement to Terms

By scheduling an appointment with Metro Houston Notary, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Refund & Cancellation Policy. These terms are communicated at the time of booking and are available at any time upon request or on our website.

This policy is designed to ensure fairness, protect client appointments, and respect the professional time and travel involved in mobile notary services.
